Anyone know if the UK's iPhone 5 will still be built with the slot inside for LTE?? Just in case some other network other than EE comes out early next year for example. Surely it will right?

No, it will only support LTE on the EE network. Unless ofcom allow 3 to eventually start LTE on the 1800mhz band in the future.

But what if EE only let u join their network if u go on pay monthly contract deal??? Like hell anyone is gonna buy it unlocked for around £600 and then still have today around £35 a month and be tied into a contract after all!!

A monthly contract is required with EE, this is from their T&Cs

"4G: Subject to coverage. UK only. Pay monthly only. When 4G launches a compatible device and plan on EE is required. Charges may apply and you’ll have to agree to a new minimum term on EE. Other terms apply. "

I suspect they will do a sim only plan, much cheaper than when getting a phone with it. However, I also suspect with it being LTE it will be more to start with.

Also, it's £529 unlocked (16GB)
