I have an unlocked iPhone 5 from ATT and have listed to sell. If I upgrade the phone to iOS 8, will the iPhone lock or will it stay unlocked to use on another carrier?

I just got my unlock approval from att. Do I actually need to restore through iTunes? Or can you just do a reset through the device?

I restored from iTunes. After the restore you will get the congrats message, you're iPhone has been unlocked.
