unlocked iPhone in Australia, I have questions?

I am thinking of giving a friend of mine my old unlocked iPhone4. She is moving to Melbourne and I have a few questions:

1) What carriers she can choose from?
2) can she do prepaid or month to month (no contract)?
3) Have I forgotten anything she needs to know to do this?
