Unlocked iPhone on US Cellular

If you buy an unlocked 4S from Apple will US Cellular activate it?

Unlocked doesn't matter. US Cellular is a CDMA carrier. You'll need to check with them to see if they will activate an iPhone 4s ESN which they most likely will not.

Just called US Cellular...

The answer is NO! They will only activate US Cellular branded phones, unlocked or not.

Bummer for us because we have no contracts on US Cellular and so many freebies, and moved to a roaming area and roam for free on Verizon so it would be great to pay so much less for service.
