At the apple store today, the specialist said that the 6 and 6 plus are unlocked for international use... That I could put another sim in from another country while there and it would work. Is this true? I have an AT&T iPhone 6. I am keeping my iPhone 5 so I can use it internationally but she said this is unnecessary.

If you bought it from AT&T its locked. Or even an AT&T phone from some place like Best Buy.

If you paid full price for it at an Apple Store it will be unlocked.

Unlocked iPhone question

It's unfortunate but I can't buy the iPhone 6 version that will work with Chinese LTE, unlocked.

Only sprint version works with chinese LTE and it is only available locked.

So I have to pay the china markup.
