I have just purchased an unlocked iPhone for use in Canada with version 1.1.1 (3A109a) on it.

The store where I bought it told me not to use any iTunes version greater than 7.2 or it would lock the phone.

There are lots of threads saying not to update the firmware to 1.1.1 or the phone will lock, but nothing about the use of certain versions of iTunes if the phone already has version 1.1.1.

Any one had any experience with this?

Any help would be appreciated.

I use an unlock iphone in Hong Kong ver 1.1.1 and I do sync it
with Itunes ver 7.5. No problems at all. It is also jailbroken with several additional 3rd part apps installed.

The important thing to remember is not to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.2 when
Itunes prompt you. Just ignore it and not perform the upgrade and you will be fine.

I have used the iphone since Thanskgiving. No problems with Itunes 7.5.
Contacts work, Mail works etc...

Good Luck
