I'm selling my iPhone 5s (Verizon) for money towards my iPhone 6 Plus. I was wondering if I can unlock it under Verizon. How do I inlock it under Verizon, or can I switch phones and sell the old one as unlocked. And also if I unlock it, will it work on any carrier?

You dont have to do anything.
All verizon iphone 5, 5S and 5C models come unlocked for any GSM carrier in the world.
Just list it as verizon iphone 5S and also post that can be used on any GSM carrier.
So you have the gsm network buyers that can use it and also any verizon customer can use it on their line also.
You'll get a decent amount for it and should be a quick sell.

So I can just put it up as unlocked? And it'll work on gsm and CDMA?

I put it up for $500 and it isn't selling? Any ideas, I think that's kinda low actually...but it's not selling.

It will work on CDMA on verizon only. Don't just put CDMA cause some might think they will be able to use it on Sprint but that is not possible.
Listed as unlocked for GSM use and also can be used on verizon since its a verizon model. Most know verizon iphone 5S models are fully unlocked for GSM.
Not sure exactly how much they go for.
Check out ebay and CL prices of similar iphones as yours and see how much they sell for.
What site you have it listed and how is it condition wise and how many GB's storage?
Everyone is selling their iphones now in order to pay for their new iphone 6 so supply and availability is very high and during this time every year prices drop cause most want to get rid of them.
2-3 weeks ago you would get more for it probably.

Yeah I know prices drop this time of year, but it's a Gold iPhone 5s 64gb. So its top of the line and I just got it replaced because the last one had issues with the Lightning port. So it's brand new in a sense.

I see some sold as low as $369 in new condition on ebay. And some go as high at $550-600. But there is tons of them out there and people are willing to let go of them cheap.
Here's the latest ebay sold auctions for your same exact model.

Also remember that ebay takes about 12-13% of your amount in the end so plan accordingly.
