iPhone 13 Pro Unlocked vs Verizon at full retail?

Verizon phones apparently unlock after 60 days automatically. Are there any other limitations?

If I am buying the phone outright on the release date, do I drive 2.5 hours round trip to the apple store for the unlocked 13 pro or get it locked to Verizon in my neighborhood?

Get it from Verizon. Outside of the 60 day lock, there is no difference between the two.

Save the 2.5 hours trip. It's worth just getting Verizon when it will Auto Unlock in 60 days and will be no different than the sim-free model.
