I have an iPhone 3GS with firmware 3.1 that I'm looking to unlock. All the information I find online seems to pertain to newer firmwares. I've searched but haven't found anything specific for this firmware. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks!

iClarified for a tutorial on jailbreaking, then you can unlock using Ultrasn0w.

Thanks! I was going to try to use pwnage tool 3.1.3 but when I run the software it creates a custom ipsw file to restore with iTunes. I was under the impression that firmware this old can't be installed with iTunes due to activation issues. Is this true? Thanks again!

I'm sorry to keep asking questions but I've downloaded multiple versions of redsn0w (versions in use when 3.1 was still current) and they keep saying ipsw not recognized when I go point it to the ipsw that matches the one on the phone. Any other suggestions for 3.1? I've searched high and low but everything seems to pertain to newer firmwares. Thanks again!
