Unlocking a 3GS on 4.0.2 help

I am trying to help my mother sell her old 3GS. I would like to JB and unlock it. But first i need to do a restore and wipe it.

What is the best way to go about this? I already sold my unlocked 3GS but I did the JB and unlock back in when 4.0.1 was current.


I have TinyUmbrella. Not very experienced with it.

If you restore it without having the shsh files saved for 4.0.2, you'll be forced to update the iPhone to 4.2.1

The best choice for you it to manually take everything off and jailbreak with LimeRa1n, then unlock with ultrasn0w.

I have saved them via tiny umbrella. If I download a clean 4.0.1 ipsw and turn on the tss server will it let me restore to 4.0.1?

Do you have the 4.0.1 SHSH files saved? If yes, you can restore using TU TSS server.
