iPod touch Unlocking a 4th Gen iPod Touch

My friend wants me to unlock her iPod touch for her. She said it says "iPod Disabled" and all i need to do is hook it to iTunes to unlock it. But what does unlocking it actually entail doing? Can i unlock it on my eMac? She says it doesn't have iOS 6 or anything newer.

An eMac is too old to do it. You will need a more recent Mac or a computer with Windows XP or newer.
And its actually restoring, not unlocking. It undisables it but all information stored will be deleted.
