I'm currently on Orange's SIM-only iPhone plan and I plan on buying an Orange PAYG iPhone 4 and putting my monthly SIM in it. However, I may want to switch providers down the line at some point.

What is Orange's current arrangement for unlocking a PAYG iPhone? I hear it's not as easy as unlocking an O2 PAYG.

Orange will unlock the iPhone on the condition the phone was purchased by you and has been continually used for three months.

They will then unlock it for £20 - taken from your air time and can take up to three weeks

Hope that helps

Very helpful. Many thanks. Certainly easier with O2!

Hell yeah!

I only know so much as I recently bought a Orange locked iPhone 3GS on eBay - they wouldn't unlock it for me until I had it in use for three months! After complaining, they then told me that only the original purchaser could request the unlock! I no longer have that handset ;)
