Hi there,

I just bought an iPhone 6 on eBay that has an o2 uk simlock on it. When I tried to unlock the device via o2 i received the email: You have not passed our security checks with the information that you have provided. Kindly check that you have provided the correct information."

After contacting o2, the customer service told me that the imei might be barred. After I checked the imei on a website, it tells me it is blacklisted. There is however, no icloud lock and perfectly usable with the o2 uk sim card.

Is there any chance to unlock the device to use with o2 germany?

Thanks for your help guys

Why would you buy a locked iPhone that you cannot use?
If it's locked and blacklisted then chances are you are sol.
You can try purchasing a 3rd party imei unlock but if your carrier shares blacklisted imei databases of devices then it still will not work. It's throwing good money into bad.

Yeah you are done for. But hey, you just overpaid for a great mp3 and crappy app store game player. So that's not too bad.

The most you can do is file a claim with eBay. Otherwise, I'm not sure why did you not check to make sure the serial number was not blacklisted. I'm not exactly sure how carriers are treated in Germany.

Okay I got good news today.

After chatting a couple of times with o2 uk, I got the information that the IMEI has been blacklisted by O2 UK and not due to any crime or anything.

In the end, they are going to remove the IMEI from the blacklist and unlock my device.

But thank you guys for your help anyways. Cheers
