Unlocking iPhone

I have no reason to unlock my iPhone 5 other than to gain value but does an unlocked AT&T iPhone 5 increase the value that much when it comes time to sell it? I know new unlocked iPhones sell for a lot.

Yes, it does increase value and you can sell it faster when unlocked since it can be used on any gsm carrier in the world. Not just on AT&T.
