Someone gave me an ATT registered iPhone 5c to use. I could not get past the activation screen even after I was able to get the IMEI unlocked and registered with TMobile with a Tmobile SIM card. After contacting ATT via their deviceunlock web site, I received a response that the unlock was denied due to non-payment. I called ATT to find out what the balance was to see if it was worth it for me to pay the balance, but since it is not my account and the original owner is unknown, there is nothing they can do.
Does anyone know of a solution for this. IOS does not let you get passed the activation screen until this lock is lifted. Any ideas?
