In OS X 10.12.3 sometimes when ejecting drives both using eject arrow next to the drive in Finder sidebar, or from desktop, it takes a bit longer than usual to actually eject.... his is even true, when apps are not using them or content stored on there is not in use. nor Spotlight indexing.... That was my first thing to check.

The icon is faded, then eventually ejects... and same with Finder action..

This doesn't happen to all drives, but i've encouraged it happening to some on my USB flash drives, as well as WD external drives, and doesn't always occur when u re-plug them in, they would otherwise eject instantly..

Anyone know what the cause of this is and how to fix? It's becoming a bit annoying.

All drives/flash drives are HFS+ but i'm reformatting my external hard drives as i "test"

Disk Utility doesn't find anything wrong with them, and they read/write perfectly.
