Just got my exchange in the mail. I unpaired my original. Anything else I should do before returning the original?

Once the watch is unpair it will be totally wiped. If you had applecare + left on it you might contact Apple and either transfer it to the new watch or get a refund on the remaining time. You should also remove it from your Apple ID. You also should check your iCloud settings and remove it there too.

The other thing is to remove the existing Watch preferences from your Apple Watch settings on your iPhone, unless you want to restore from back up from the existing Watch to a new Watch.

Thanks. I chose to set up the new one as a new apple watch, thinking that would take care of it. is there another step i need to take from my phone? i did notice that while it appeared to erase a number of the settings i previously had, it didn't ask me to set my activity goals, etc. the second time around.
