Hello,

Here is the situation: I have a Mac Mini G4 that used to run OS X for a while. At that time, I paired an Apple Wireless Keyboard with it. So far so good.

Such Mac Mini has not been running OS X for months now (it has NetBSD).

I have now paired the same Apple Wireless Keyboard with a MacBook Pro, which works well... until the laptop is put to sleep. At that point, the keyboard repairs itself with the Mac Mini. The only fix is to turn off the Mini, turn on the laptop, wait for the keyboard to pair again with the laptop, and then turn on the Mini. Which sucks.

So my dilemma is: how can I unpair such keyboard from the Mac Mini G4 without going through OS X?

I have tried to boot the Mini with a Linux live CD and attempted to do the unpairing with the included bluetooth utilities... but that was no luck. I have also tried to boot the OS X installer to do the same thing, but there are no bluetooth controls at that point.

There must be (I imagine) a way to force a reset on the keyboard to forget about all paired devices or to unpair the keyboard from the Mac Mini from the OpenFirmware console... Anyone knows if such thing is possible?

(The only solution I see now is to wipe the Mini -- my home server! --, install OS X, unpair the keyboard, wipe the machine again, put NetBSD back in. Quite annoying.)

Thanks!
