Unplugging the lighting cable from the Iphone safely

Hey all I just got my iPhone 5 and am very happy i just a need some tips on removing the lighting cable on the phone it seems very tight, the only way i can remove it is by gently wriggling it around is this the right way!

Strange. Mine is perfect, not to hard, not to soft. It's in there nice and snug. I love the lightning connector.

Its easy to put it in because it clicks into place but its hard to take out.

Mine is stiffer than I was expecting. I assume it will loosen up over time tho.

Just pull it. Avoid pulling on the cable, grab it by the end.
