unrar apps don't launch

Hi-
I took out my old ibook OS 10.2.8 but cannot expand any rar files.
I downloaded unrar, unrarx, rarmachine, and simplyrar but none will actually launch when I drag and drop the rar files onto the app. unrarx bouches a couple times, but never opens.
Could this be a system problem?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Your OS is very old. Did you check for versions of the apps that are compatible with ... is it Jaguar?

Yes, the apps should be OK with the OS.

Can you open UnRarX by double-clicking? Was UnRarX installed on this before? If so, I'd delete any old preference files.

I cannot open it by double clicking, it bounces twice and then doesn't open.

There are no old preferences and nothing in the system console log.

Interestingly, I tried to install unRARosx.pkg and my system says there are errors.

Perhaps my system has a problem?
