Can someone please help me. I have a RAR file that needs a password to open it, but whenever I click on it, it just goes through the extraction process without asking me to put a password in. The only option I see is the 'password' option up top once it's already extracted, but when extracting it says password incorrect in the list of 4 errors. How do I get the option to use password before it opens. In windows you were asked to put password in before the extraction, but this just extracts when you click to open?

Tried this, as suggested on this forum but just get blank screen, as did the OP who asked the same question.

Extraction fails because your rar file is password protected?
In order to extract password protected rar files you must follow the following procedure:
Click on Toolbar Item labeled "Password"(a sheet should slide down from main application window)
Enter your Password
Click OK button
Drag your file into the UnRarX window to begin extraction.

Try using Stuffit Expander. It's free on the Mac app store and you won't have this problem with password protected RAR files.

thanks for your help! UnRar has a really weird way of dealing with passwords!
