This seems to have started after I updated to version 10. A text message will come in, and after reading and deleting it it on my iPhone, the badge with a "1" indicating an unread message still shows on the Messages complication on the Watch. If I open Messages on the Watch, I can briefly see that message, then it disappears (presumably because I deleted it on the iPhone), but the unread message badge remains. Only way to clear it is to restart the Watch.

I have this same issue on my AWU, did you manage to find a resolution?

It happens to me on my watch, iPhone, and Mac too. Except for briefly seeing the message, I never see that on any of them.

There's some kind of logic flaw in messages somewhere about the badge notification and unread messages.

No, not yet. I did find a post somewhere that mentioned a solution was to ask Siri to "read new messages", and that would cause it to realize that there were actually no new messages, and there were replies from various people that said it worked for them, but it doesn't work for me. The only think I can do is just try to remember to view the message on the watch before deleting it on the phone. I did notice that it only seems to happen with green-bubble text messages, not blue iMessages.

Thanks, I tried the Siri thing and it didn't work for me either. I assume this bug will have been sent to apple.
