Unreadable characters when asked for password

This is odd. When installing an application I am always prompted for my root password. but today this came up.

Any idea where it's from?

Should I use pacifist?

Try to delete you Font cache. Try the application Yasu and delete the Font caches.

Maybe you should run all the maintenance routines and l;et the program reboot your Mac. Then just immeadiatly reboot again to completely rebuild your shutdown/startup system cache.

Doing this kind of software maintenance about once every four months should keep you Mac running almost like new, barring any hardware issues.
