hi, im trying to put some film from my camcorder onto my iMac and am getting a message saying the file is unrecognisable.

this is the file:

/Volumes/Untitled/MP_ROOT/101PNV01/M2U00202.MPG

do i need a convertor or something?

if so what one is a good one?

thanks

It's not likely you need a converter, as Macs can handle MPG files. Have you tried dragging and dropping that file onto your desktop, then trying to open it there?

yes it opened and played but was very stop start and sound was coming off and on.

i got that message when i tried importing it to iPhoto .

MPG files are video files. iPhoto is for photos. Try using iTunes or use a video player like VLC.
