unresponsive iPhone?

This happens about twice a day; when I press the sleep button and I want to use my phone again the home button and sleep button don't wake up my phone!
The slide to unlock screen doesn't show up when I press any of the buttons. I have to hold the home + sleep Button to restart my phone so I can use it.

Sometimes I think my phone just shuts off?
I jailbroke my phone a while back but I restored it and it worked but it still has the custom carrier logo. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem though.

This happened before and after the 2.1 update.

Also the "run away" deleting still happens.

I too have had this issue for a while on my never hacked iPhone 3G. It seems the phone just "freezes" up for whatever reason. What I usually end up doing is just keep pushing the home button over and over until the phone wakes up...sounds odd, but it works.

I've had this problem as well. Normally I just plug it into the charger and the screen will activate. My phone has never been hacked or modified in any way. It happened both before and after the 2.1, 2.02 and 2.01.

mine did this the first time today, I am restoring it from iTunes.

Annoying.

have you tried DFU and restore?
