Unresponsive Touch Bar on MBP 16"

The main controls on my 16" aren't working. Is this a common issue with the Touch Bar? Kind of demonstrates the worst fears about having critical controls on a touchscreen...

Restart fixed it but still not very confidence inspiring after such a short time.

It happens on my 13 inch time to time as well. What you can do is terminate it in activity monitor, it will then automatically restart.
I have no idea why and how it happens though.

Only had my new 16” for an hour when I disconnected my external monitor from it and the touch controls on the right for volume, brightness and Siri were frozen, yet other application controls appeared on the left were not. Hope this doesn’t occur often.

This has already happened at least 3 times in the short time I've owned the 16" is this just normal behavior for the Touch Bar?!

When I had the 2019 15 for two months I never had any issues with the touch bar, then again I never had it plugged into an external display at least regularly. I hope this isn't a larger issue
