Unsent email notifications keep popping up?

I had an iCloud email reply on the watch give me an error saying it failed to send. So I got an unsent notification on the watch. Every time I acknowledge it, it disappears and reappears immediately. I deleted the email from the phone, and permanently from the trash. The pop up notification still appears. I rebooted the watch and I'm about to reboot the phone. Any idea how to resolve this?

Also, how do we force close apps on the new watchOS 3 betas?

I think I was able to get it by turning off mail on the phone and back on. What a pain.
