unshadow passwords in email field??

I don't know much about macs...and am here for my techno-challenged mother. She forgot her yahoo mail address and the only option yahoo gives her for resetting is to send a reset password to some other email address she forgets how to get into. (she didn't set up any security questions or provide a phone number to get a text reset). the one avenue we have is that her ipad is still logged in and the password can be "viewed" as "********". Is there a mac program that can unshadow this textbox so she can read plaintext? I am guessing probably not (for a non jail-broken device) but am hoping some mac gurus know a way around.

First, open the Keychain app (in the Utilities folder) and see if the password is stored in one of the entries.

I wonder if you called them and asked them to send a reset email to her main email if they would. You could then take care of it on the iPad.
