when i try to change the privileges for the guest account it wont let me. there are 2 other users which are (unknown) and "everyone"? i have tried logging into the user account and locking it but when i do that it locks it on my main account that i use as well...is there any way i can make sure im the only one that reads/writes on the external?

the Guest account is created from the new user template every time one logs into it. can you cannot change anything in the Guest Account (well easily http://www.michaelsmac.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=394)
can you remove the "unknown" user in the permissions box (after clicking the lock and enterting password) or click "revert changes" in the gear menu?
