Anyone think that for those who still have an unshipped Mac Pro package at Apple we will at least get the latest version of Leopard installed?

Depends how fast they can get new Restore discs pressed with 10.5.2 on them. I'd say lead time of 4-5 days from 2/11 when 10.5.2 was publicly released.

Hey there,

I don't know for certain that they will ship the Mac Pro with a pre-installed version of leopard 10.5.2 but i do know that when you receive your Mac Pro if it doesn't come pre-installed you'll be able to do a software update where 10.5.2 will be available as well as all the other software update you''ll have to do.

I believe once you get any Mac the most important thing to do first after the setup assistant is to do a software update and reboot the machine.:)

Mac Pro-orderd Jan 17th Still no update: Says "Not Yet Shipped"
Ships by Feb 25th
Delivers By Feb 29th

NO NO NO NO NO! Please use your common sense. It was released yesterday so they will not be holding your orders because of 10.5.2.

They are already holding my order no matter what ... so better if it is with 10.5.2.

So my 500GB CTO is supposed to ship on 2/21 -- you'd guess it'll come with 10.5.2 preloaded?

They are holding mine too but its not gonna be because of 10.5.2. Also, why would it be? There is no difference if you receive it or download it so why all the fuss?

Why in the world does it matter? I have seen people waiting for 10.5.2 to release before they buy a new computer. Apple offers all upgrades for free, so why even worry?

It'll be at least a few weeks before you'll see anything in the new MP's.

Not likely that long. Apple had a Gold Master for pressing by 2/11 PM. Pressing 10,000 or more DVD can be done in 96 hrs, at a decent cost, and surely they booked the manufacturing capacity to do it.

Takes less than 5 minutes to make a sandwich, but we often pay others to do it for us.

Just something about laying down many thousand of dollars for a piece of equipment that doesn't come right out of the box as the biggest/baddest/bestest, isn't there? :D

It's a guy thing. ;)

Since it will be for me a lot of installing / reinstalling and transferring... I would like to have AT LEAST the newest OSX on it and save 5 min. of my life.
