I opened Finder and found a folder titled untitled DVD under the "Places" arrow . When I click on it it does nothing. Nothing appears on the right, nothing. Is it there because an application created it and the app needs it or do I have a glitch and it's going to be a pain to get rid of it if it's not needed?
I have installed Toast 10 a few days ago. Could it be the culprit?

If I recall correctly, you can just drag it out of that pane and it'll go *poof*. It usually appears if you start creating a DVD and then eject it before finishing.

It seems to be a Burn folder.

You can safely drag it out of the Sidebar, no data of your is going to be deleted.

Also have a look at the following links, as the information presented there might be helpful in your future endeavours into Mac OS X and could clear up initial confusion and may even prevent harm to your system or your files.
