Untitled tabs opening by themselves in Safari

Hi. Every few minutes, 1-2 blank tabs open by themselves in Safari. The address bar briefly shows a link to "trc.taboola.com" before clearing out and opening a blank, untitled tab. I have AVG on my Mac and also ran AdwareMedic but they haven't found anything. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Create a new user, reboot, login to the new user. Does the issue still happen in Safari?
