Where the fresh snow don't go.
So...this is a first for me...

I jailbroke my ipod touch 3g and I've been using it just fine. So, I drained the battery and believed that it'll be easily jailbroken again. But this time, I was able to jailbreak it, but it took an unusually long time and the screen will not respond. My power/sleep button as well as my home button will not respond. I'm currently on itunes 9.1 and on a 3.1.2 for my ipod touch 3g.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

**Also, I tried to restore it, but it'll let me only "restore+update to newest firmware". I tried to use the 3.1.2 firmware I downloaded from felix, but it's not compatible. Soooo I'm stuck in a hole

As you were already jailbroken on 3.1.2, try restoring with a 2nd gen 3.1.2.ipsw, I have seen a number of posts by touch 3G owners who have successfully downgraded this way but it only works if you have been previously jailbroken.

I will try to restore it with the 2nd gen ipod touch 3.1.2...but i'm skeptical about this :(
i'm pretty much willing to try this lol. ahh whatever...i just want to use the device x_x

That's only with the 8GB version.

If you can get it into DFU mode already you should not have to turn it off, that is just how he went about getting it into DFU mode. Otherwise restore to 3.1.3 and try the method to downgrade, if it won't downgrade at least you will have a functioning device on 3.1.3 and a new JB will come out eventually.
