I have MBP 15" bought around May 2008

my battery is showing weird symptoms...

Just last night without any previous symptoms or any sign of defect the battery health just dropped to 4%. Then I unhooked my battery and left it on my desk and went to bed. This morning I hooked it up again and it shows.. that.. the battery capacity is well over 60000 mAh (yes.. 4 zeroes).

in just one night the battery capacity showed 4% and then the other day it showed... 65336mAh.. ? and it's weird how this number is close to 2^16...

any idea why this is happening and how to fix this???

Well as many people have stated here, CoconutBattery isn't very reliable. Either that, or the controller CoconutBattery uses is f*****.

however, this doesn't make sense as it shows the same thing on the system profiler.

Try calibrating the battery (search the Apple site or this forum for instructions).

If that doesn't work, make an appointment with a Genius. You're still under warranty so if there's a problem with the battery, you'll get a replacement np.
