Right,this is becoming really

Right, Banners appearing when I open the Mail app. This is becoming increasingly annoying, more so because I just can't find any setting to turn it off.

I've just upgraded to iOS 26 USING icloud. And every time I open the Mail app, I get a Banner appear from the top for the last email that dropped in, even if that email was received several hours ago. This didn't happen on IOS 18.

I read somewhere that to resolve this issue I should turn off the Alerts tab in settings / Mail / customise notifications. But by doing his, I receive no notifications at all.

Is anyone else getting this issue? If so, we're you able to fix it?

I've submitted a ticket to Apple, but from the fact that from all the searching I done and finding hardly onyone else has this issue, they may not take it on board.

Will do next time it pops up depending on what's on the email of course 😂

Until then, I'll describe e what it looks like - I open Mail and am met with all my emails. After about 2 seconds, a Banner appears from the top (the kind that drop down when you're on your phone and a new notification banner drops down from the top of the screen). The banner then disappears.

This doesn't happen every time.
