Prior to iOS 15, we had a fully functional Remote application that also had an extension within control center that added some great functionality.

For whatever reason, the Remote app is no longer a dedicated application, which forces users to go into control center in order to make quick actions on a connected TV. Not a big deal on a smaller phone, but when in a different app on a Max phone, it is more complicated than before to quickly pause, mute or whatever is needed on your connected AppleTV. In my use case, I tended to have the remote app open in the background as I often use it to control Podcasts, Netflix, etc.
It is only a couple more steps, but when you have muscle memory and got used to quite a simple workflow, the change is annoying.
Prior to this release
1. Swipe over to your previously used application (assuming it was remote)
2. complete whatever action you would like from the remote app running in background
iOS 15 method to access remote
1. Swipe down from control center (sometimes needing to change grip on a Max phone)
2. Open the remote widget (scrolling through other buttons if you have a ton of them or didn't move remote to the top)
3. Select your Apple TV or device* (Not always needed, however my widget seems to forget what AppleTV I was talking to previously)
4. Complete whatever action you are intending to complete with your remote app.
Having to always bring down control center is not exactly ideal, and while the "now Playing" widget can sometimes provide quicker access to controlling an Apple TV, it is only useful if your phone actually remembers which TV you were previously controlling, and only if you aren't already playing some type of media from your device, or, for some reason my Xs Max seems to forget what TV I was previously controlling.
For the record I did submit the request to bring it back to Apple, but expecting nothing.
