I can't get rid of an icon on my menu bar that was installed along with a backup software called LifeAgent that came with the 1TB Western Digital external I just bought. I already uninstalled the software by deleting the app folder it created in Applications. I also typed "lifeagent" in spotlight but couldn't find any remnant of it, so why does the icon remain?

FYI: Command-drag generally only works for Apple menu items.

The folks at LifeAgent recommend that you use the included uninstaller to get rid of the app, but here is their list of things to delete if you do it manually. Those at the bottom should get rid of the menu bar item.

Thanks that did it!
