Unwanted photos appearing in my Photostream

Ive noticed that when importing photos from an SD card into iPhoto on my MacBook, they strangely appear on my iPhones Photostream album. They don't appear in my MacBooks iPhoto Photostream, just on my iPhone.

Any idea why this is happening and how I can prevent it please?

Go to preferences. There should be a photo stream tab in the settings window. Just turn it off.
