OS X Edit: Mac App Store game will not DL to external drive

Edit:Some action games are 90% off on the Mac App Store until 19th July.

So I just bought Dead Island 2, reduced from 69.99 to 5.99, it will not download.
I keep getting a requester telling me to try again later.
I do have large files set to save to external drive, maybe this is the issue (not enough space on internal storage…. 🙁)

Ok I have unchecked DL to external drive, and it downloads straight away….. 😬

I am assuming I can just move the whole app afterwards.
Has anyone had problems with ‘game saves’ from external (similar to death stranding I believe)..?
