The eight-part series was created by Veronica West, known for co-creating "High Fidelity." The show is described as a psychological thriller, but little else is known about it at this time.

"Surface" comes from Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine and Apple Studios. Gugu Mbatha-Raw has also starred in "The Morning Show" alongside Reese Witherspoon, playing the role of Hannah Shoenfeld.

"Surface" is set to go into production starting in 2021. Apple has worked with Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine on several projects, including "The Morning Show," "Truth Be Told," and the upcoming country music talent show "My Kind of Country."

Apple needs a few more shows before I’ll shell out for +, but I’m glad to see them ramping original content. It will pay off in the long run, even if it takes a few years to build up the TV / film library.

Apple could also get aggressive and buy something like Lionsgate, but I doubt that will happen.

Epix is Lionsgate right? Not sure but I always thought Epix would be a good match, they have a lot of good originals and they provide a lot of content to Prime and Hulu I believe.

I’m glad to see her get her own show on Apple TV. Her performance on TMS conveyed every nuance it needed to and helped me understand what happened to the real life women in her position in a way I didn’t before, despite being a woman fending off sexual harassment in the workplace and other situations myself. I thought that aspect TMS was well done overall and her performance was part of that quality.

She didn’t “co-create” anything. She co-produced and co-wrote a gender swapped reboot that bombed with audiences and was summarily cancelled after one season on Hulu.
