Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

I am currently using an iPhone 3G running iOS 3.1.3. It's a bit slow at times, but obviously I have used this for the past two years and been more than happy. However, upon synching today it asked me if I wanted to update to iOS 4.2. and was tempted yet again...

I know 4.0 was terrible for 3G, and apparently this was fixed in 4.2. But I feel I'm tempting fate by upgrading, since there is no easy way back. So what are the big ups and downs of this?

BTW, I'm planning on upgrading to the newest iPhone that gets released around June. Should I just bide my time?

Thanks.
