My primary concern is transferring all my apps and contacts from my 3gs to my 4s. I know that iCloud can do this, but I am wondering if it is worth the hassle to update my 3gs or just back it up on itunes and start anew with the 4s. Advice appreciated. Thanks

Just use the app BUMP to transfer your contacts.

I did the update on my 3GS and kinda wished I didn't.

I spent a long time doing the download and reloading my apps and really all for nothing since my 4s will be here Friday and I have to do this again.

I can say the browser is way faster than before and it also seems the battery life has improved
