I've got an iPad 5th Gen. If there are updates in the App Store, and I select "Update All", I am always required to enter my login and password. Always.

If I select "Update" for each app individually, I am never asked to login.

This is an issue only on my iPad. My iPhone 7 Plus always allows me to "Update All" without a fresh login.

What am I missing/doing wrong?

Thanks!

It doesn't sound to me like you're doing anything wrong. It strikes me that something is corrupt in the settings of the iPad, and that is causing the request to sign in repeatedly. Since purchases and upgrades are tied to your Apple ID what I would suggest is that you sign out of your Apple ID on the iPad, and then sign in again. Hopefully that will overwrite the conflicting data with fresh data, and you'll get seamless updates again.

Thanks for answering, but this did not fix the problem.

Just a final follow-up:

I tried the 13.1 beta, and decided to go back to 12.4.1. As advised, I restored by putting the iPad into recovery mode, reloading 12.4.1, and restoring from a backup.

Everything restored properly - but even better, I can now select "Update All" without having to reenter my login and password.
