I just got a brand new iPad 3 from the store which was shipped with iOs 5.1.1. The model number is MD367NF. I tried to update it over the air on the iPad itself. After downloading the whole package, it gives an error: update failed, error download iOs 6.0.
So I hooked it up to my macbook (with OSX 10.8.2) and tried updating using iTunes. iTunes downloads the update, but when processing the download it fails as well, stating the 'download is corrupted' and presenting error 1403.
Googling this error gave me some hope: it could be the firewall of my modem. Disabling the firewall on the router seemed to have helped other users having this exact same problem with iOs 5.0.
I disabled the firewall on my modem, on my macbook and disabled any other applications I could think of that could possible influence the download (like GlimmerBlocker). I tried the download several times, on macbook and iPad. Still no luck. It's very annoying.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?
