Update and Notifications

Hi -

New to Mac. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro - running Catalina 10.15.6. I restarted today and now I notice that I'm receiving notifications for updating to BigSur even though all notifications and check for updates is turned off. The notification wouldn't go away - and I had to select ask me tomorrow (which I don't want) - as I don't want to update to BigSur now. Question is - since all notifications are turned off and it's still asking will the machine automatically update to BigSur? Is there a way to turn off these daily notifications?
