This message appeared in Settings a while ago. It was like this on 11.1, and if I clicked the button, I just got endless spinning dots and had to force close settings. I figured if I updated to 11.2 the issue would go away. It still does the same thing. As far as I can tell, everything works fine, just unlocked my Mac with watch, can view other AppleID stuff, find my works. Anyone else have this weird issue?

Not an answer but another weird issue: I have two AWs paired to my iPhone and when I updated one to 11.2 on the charger the other seemed to update as well while not on the charger. Is this what happens? Anyone?

What do the watch app and the settings app on the phone tell you about this? There was some update to iCloud T&Cs if I recall right?

I seem to recall a recent post about this, try a search in this subforum.

And lastly, I’d contact Apple support

Never been able to update any of the 7 or 8 AWs I’ve had over the years without being on the charger and at 50%, and my S7 has been sitting on the nightstand all day and did not update (updated my U2 earlier today)

My AWs are series 7 cellular and series 10 cellular. The 7 was on the charger and updated fairly quickly and when I put the 10 on the charger it didn't seem go through the update process...or if it did it happened in seconds......and there it was 11.2!!!

It doesn't tell me anything, that's the weird part. On the Watch app on my phone no such sign in issue shows up. It shows my email for my Apple ID but you cant sign out or do anything, just see it. All the functions such as handoff, app updates, mac unlock, etc., work as intended as far as I can tell. Just this weird bug that only shows on the watch settings app and gets stuck if you click it, and it persists on reboots and on software updates. I might be misremembering but I think it initially appeared shortly after I got the watch when it prompted me for my password which I entered. My other watch which I use at night shows no issues with sign in; it however stopped unlocking my Macs since Sequoia, and doesn't appear in the mac settings anymore.

My hompods also used to give me a weird sign in issue promt in the home app randomly but that's finally gone away since iOS 18 and sometimes I wonder if it's related.

Hello, I've just had the same problem on my recently purchased Series 10... Rebooting didn't help.

I was able to fix it by unpairing then pairing the watch to my iPhone 14 again. Before pairing again, make sure the watch is deleted from your Apple Account. Note you'll loose apps and settings on the watch, however you'll be able to restore it from a backup.
