I've encountered issues every single time when updating my Apple Watch 6 (my first Apple Watch)

When there's a new software update it's always stuck on "Verifying" whilst my iPhone and iPad updates on the fly.

A couple of restarts of the watch and phone seems to resolve the issue, but why the hassle with the updates to the watch?

It seems to require to be placed on the charger as well, and that can be for a couple of days. Am I just missing something obvious here?

You are. Put the watch on charge and open the watch app and manually update from there. It has been working without any issues for me since I bought the watch.

That’s exactly what I do. Then there’s something wrong with mine.

I have heard other complaints about similar problems with updating the watch. Maybe it's a wifi or Bluetooth issue that's causing the problem? Are you updating right when the new version is released? Maybe it's a server issue on Apple's end that can't keep up with the demand..

Don't know. I'm updating when the phone announces there's an update available.

E: It has sorted it self out when rebooting the iPhone and/or the watch, but I think it's a faulty device. Never had any issues on Mac, iOS or iPadOS.
