Update Carrier Settings on JB 3GS with 4.0

I finally got my iphone working thanks to jailbreakme.com and ultrasn0w...
Everything works again.
But I got a message saying an update to my carrier settings was available..I can ignore it or update it. I`m paranoid about updating, since my last update (to 4.0) cost me the JB and unlock...
Does the carrier settings update do anything `bad`?
Now that its unlocked, I`m using Virgin in Canada...

Ignore it. It doesn't mess up your jailbreak but it may mess up your APN data settings with your carrier.
