Update Carrier Settings?

When I open iTunes I get these annoying pop ups: "An update to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available. Would you like to download it now?" Options given are Learn more, Cancel, or download and update. I've been to the learn more but still not sure if this will interfere with the JB and pdaNet, I'm using a Verizon iPhone4. Is it Safe? Pros, Cons?

Those are safe to install and they do not interfere with jailbreaks.
