I haven an jailbroken iphone 4 unlock in mexico TECEL and everytime i plug it into my macbook it ask me for an update on the carrier or something like that, should i do it? or not? i dont wanna loose my unlock u_u thank you:eek:

If its from Apple, it should be ok... Are you having problems with email, calls, or email?

nop i dont have problems at all it even works with 3g xD and everything and that antenna issue with u grip it or something dosent seem to be happening i grip it without case and only loose one bar but that dosent mess up with voice quality i think its att problem not apple cause it works perfectly with telcel

.... I've often wondered, if you have hacked the phone and enabled tethering, will your hard work be undone if you let a carrier update install?

Yes. The carrier update not only contains your APN settings but the flags that determine if tethering is allowed or not.
